At Randwick Public School, our vision for reconciliation is to create a safe and inclusive environment where all members of the community feel valued, respected and heard. We recognise the importance of acknowledging and understanding the historical and ongoing impact of colonisation and the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.  Our goal is to foster a culture of reconciliation by providing opportunities for education and awareness about the experiences and perspectives of First Nations peoples. We will respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and knowledges into our curriculum and school activities, encouraging respectful dialogue and meaningful engagement with the local First Nation community.  Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we strive to build meaningful relationships with local First Nation leaders and organisations as we engage in ongoing dialogue to understand and address the needs and priorities of the community. We will also work to create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and families to feel welcome and included in our school community.   We recognise that reconciliation is a process that requires ongoing commitment and action. By working together with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, we can build a better future for all Australians based on mutual respect, understanding, and inclusion.  We commit to learning more about the cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this Land, and to taking action to support reconciliation and respect for First Nations peoples and their knowledge. We acknowledge that we have much to learn, and that we must work towards a future where all people are valued and respected equally.
