VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Community Kids Parkes, our vision for reconciliation is rooted in respect, learning, and genuine connection. As we begin our journey, we acknowledge that reconciliation is not a destination but a continuous process, one that invites us to listen deeply, reflect honestly, and act meaningfully. We are committed to creating a centre where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, cultures, and perspectives are not only acknowledged but respected as a vital part of our shared story.   Reconciliation, to us, means building relationships based on trust and understanding. It means recognising the past, honouring the resilience of First Nations peoples, and working together to shape a future that is inclusive and just. We understand that this journey requires humility and a willingness to learn, and we embrace that with open hearts. Our educators, children, families, and wider community are all part of this learning process, and we are proud to walk alongside one another.   Through respectful conversations, cultural learning, and meaningful partnerships, we aim to embed reconciliation into the everyday rhythm of our centre. We believe that even small steps like learning the local language, celebrating significant dates, or inviting Elders to share stories, can lead to powerful change.  As we grow in our understanding, we hope to inspire others to join us in this journey. Community Kids Parkes is committed to being a place of truth-telling, healing, and hope; where reconciliation is not just spoken about, but lived.
