At Bluebird Early Education Botanic Ridge, our vision for reconciliation is rooted in our WITH philosophy: working WITH children, WITH families, WITH teams, and WITH community. This approach guides our everyday practices and relationships, ensuring that reconciliation is embedded in all we do. Â We see reconciliation in Education as an opportunity to build meaningful connections and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and learn about their perspectives, as we foster a deep respect for the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. Â Â Our commitment to reconciliation is ongoing and collaborative. We value and seek the guidance of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities as we shape our learning environment. These relationships inform our practices as we reflect, grow, and embed First Nations perspectives authentically and respectfully. We commit to creating a culturally safe and inclusive space where First Nations voices are heard, valued and celebrated. Â Â Â
As a learning community, we understand that reconciliation requires continuous learning, un-learning and re-learning. We commit to engaging in ongoing cultural responsiveness and development, challenging our assumptions, and deepening our understanding of true histories of Australia. Our active commitments include embedding reconciliation in our daily curriculum and practices and building and maintaining respectful partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Supporting educators through regular cultural learning and creating inclusive spaces for children, families and communities to engage in reconciliation in education. Using our RAP to guide reflection and growth we acknowledge that reconciliation is not going to happen in a day, but will be a collaborative journey over years to come - one we walk WITH each other, and WITH Country, every day.Â
