Our vision for reconciliation is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples will experience equality and equity, dignity, and respect. We aspire to ensure we have a culturally safe environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people histories and cultures are valued and respected. Â Our focus will be to embrace and take our employees, families, and children along a journey of discovery about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures, histories to work together toward reconciliation. Â Our Reconciliation Action Plan is an agreed strategy on how Buttercups Wellard intends to develop stronger and more meaningful relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We need to recognise the histories of dispossession, colonisation and the continuing discrimination faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in order to achieve meaningful reconciliation. Â At Buttercups Wellard, we believe in celebrating the rich heritage of the oldest continuing cultures and recognising the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As an early education provider, we have an opportunity to work alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a culturally appropriate way. Wherever possible, we will partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations to deliver programs to educate the children in an inclusive, culturally sensitive and appropriate manner.
