At Keiki Early Learning Butler, we envision a future where all children grow up with deep respect for, and connection to, the rich histories, cultures and contributions First Nations Peoples. We are committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment where reconciliation is part of everyday practice, embedded in our curriculums, relationships, and community connections. As a new service, we embrace the opportunity to build strong, respectful partnerships with the Traditional Custodians of the Land we learn and play on, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, learning from these relationships and reflecting on our reconciliation journey regularly. We believe that meaningful reflection, informed by diverse First Nations peoples’ perspectives and lived experiences, strengthens our growth as educators as well as in our personal lives. Through this, we aim to foster empathy, deepen cultural understanding, and empower children to be proud, respectful, and active participants in reconciliation. As we open the doors to Keiki Butler Early Years Learning Centre, we do so with deep respect for the Whadjuk Noongar people, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and grow. Our vision for reconciliation is to foster respect, inclusion, and cultural understanding from the earliest years. We are committed to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives into our practice, building meaningful connections with community, and supporting every child to grow in an environment that values truth, equity, and shared learning. Through continuous reflection and collaboration, we strive to contribute to a united and reconciled Australia.
