Coonara Community House stands on Wurundjeri and Bunurong Land, the people of the Kulin Nation.
Our vision for reconciliation at Coonara Community House is a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and all children and families have the same life and learning opportunities. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First People of Australia and the true Custodians of the Land. Their living cultures and histories continue to shape this country and the identity of all Australians.
We endeavour to listen to the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and create a space where inclusion and a sense of belonging are respectfully embedded into the soul of Coonara Community House. Reconciliation means educating all members of our community. We strive to gain knowledge and understanding about Australia's cultural heritage and have a strong commitment to the rights of children, respect, collaboration, diversity, justice, honesty and social inclusion.
