VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Truganina Community Centre- Kindergarten, our vision for reconciliation is to create a culturally safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and contributions are recognised, valued, and meaningfully embedded into everyday practice.

We envision a community where reconciliation is not just a goal, but a lived commitment, reflected in our relationships, our learning spaces, and our ways of working. We believe that reconciliation means walking together with First Nations peoples, acknowledging past injustices, and actively contributing to a future built on trust, respect, and genuine partnerships.

Through open dialogue, cultural education, and deep listening, we aim to foster an early learning environment where children grow up with a strong sense of respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, languages, and perspectives. We are committed to continuous reflection, learning, and action that supports equity, truth-telling, and healing.

Guided by the values of People, Accountability, Safety, and Inclusion, we will work collaboratively with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure our approach to reconciliation is authentic, sustainable, and community-driven.

Our aspiration is for every child, family, educator, and community member who walks through our doors to feel a deep sense of belonging and connection, grounded in the shared journey of reconciliation.
