At A2Z Childcare and Kindergarten, we are committed to fostering an environment of inclusion, respect, and understanding for all children, families, and staff. We recognise the importance of reconciliation between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous people, acknowledging the deep connections to Country, culture, and community that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have maintained for thousands of years.
Our vision for reconciliation is a nurturing and culturally safe space where children and families can learn about, and engage with, and respect the diverse histories and cultures of First Nations peoples. We aspire to respectfully include Frist Nations peoples’ perspectives and knowledge into our everyday practices, ensuring that all children feel seen, heard, and respected.
Through meaningful engagement with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through partnerships and ongoing professional development, we will create pathways for understanding, healing, and positive change. We aim to build a future where reconciliation is embedded into our culture, fostering a strong sense of belonging for everyone within our service, and contributing to a more inclusive, respectful, and connected society.
We commit to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives into the curriculum and daily practice, building partnerships with local First Nations communities and Elders, and providing opportunities for all children and families to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, and languages. We believe in supporting a culturally safe environment for all families, staff, and children through promoting awareness and understanding of reconciliation across our service, ensuring our team and children are empowered with knowledge, respect, and empathy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We aim to help lay the foundations for a brighter, more united future where reconciliation and mutual respect are woven into the fabric of the wider community.
