Wheelers Hill Primary School is committed to creating an inclusive space for all students, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Â
Wheelers Hill staff will continue to learn and deepen our own understandings of the local and wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. We will aim to learn, unlearn, and relearn in order to be inclusive and as accurate as possible in our teachings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's histories, cultures and perspectives. Â
Staff will aim to adapt our teachings as we learn and teach the current and updated terminology and information. Staff will form relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, Elders, and build reciprocal connections between our local communities and our school. Â
Wheelers Hill Primary School will provide opportunities for students to build on their knowledge of the histories of "Australia" and Bunurong Country. Students will gain more insight into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, knowledge and language.Â
Staff and students will work together to include First Nations practices in our aims to be more sustainable and look after the environment.Â
