VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At John Hartley Children’s Centre, our vision for reconciliation recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures within our Kindy philosophy and we continually strive to strengthen authentic connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Educators support children to engage with experiences that build their knowledge of, and respect for, Kaurna people and Country.

Educators deepen their knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories, sharing their learnings with children and families. Through truth-telling, we aim to our capacity to integrate opportunities to learn about and acknowledge the histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the ongoing impacts of colonisation.

We aim to develop strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and families, ensuring they feel welcomed, respected, and represented within our Children’s Centre community.
