Children First Early Education Salisbury Downs recognises the historical and ongoing social injustices that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities have experienced since colonisation. As a service, we aim to acknowledge and build respectful relationships with local First Nations peoples and connections with Kaurna Land on which the service is built, sharing our learning within our learning community through the environment, resources, and practices informed by Kaurna peoples’ perspectives.
We strive for a future where First Nations peoples are acknowledged, and their perspectives are respectfully embedded in all aspects of our curriculum. We endeavour to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community members feel a sense of connectedness, belonging and respect within the service and within wider communities.
