VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Grow Early Learning Dalby, our vision for reconciliation is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly the Barungam people of the local region are deeply respected, valued, and celebrated as the First Peoples and Custodians of this Land.

We are committed to nurturing a culturally safe and inclusive environment where children, families, educators, and the wider Dalby community can grow together in truth, understanding, and unity.

Reconciliation means acknowledging the profound wisdom, deep histories, and continuing contributions of the Barungam people. It calls us to listen with open hearts, learn with humility, and build relationships grounded in respect, trust, and shared purpose.

We believe early childhood is a powerful time to plant the seeds of a more just, equal and equitable future. Through culturally responsive teaching, inclusive play, and meaningful engagement with local First Nations communities, we empower every child to develop a strong sense of identity, belonging, and pride in the rich cultural heritage of our nation, beginning right here on Barungam Country.

Our commitment to reconciliation guides us to take real and ongoing action. This includes respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives, especially those of the Barungam people, into our curriculum, supporting cultural learning for educators, and creating space for truth-telling, healing, and mutual respect.

We recognise that reconciliation is not a destination, but a continuous journey of shared responsibility. Together, we walk alongside the Barungam people and our community, growing a future where all children thrive.
