QSELC's RAP is built around our "Connect, Explore, Construct" philosophy, aimed at fostering an inclusive, respectful, and culturally safe space. Our vision for reconciliation is for strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the respectful integration of First Nations peoples’ cultures and perspectives into our curriculum, and the meaningful engagement with families. Connect - We commit to building strong, respectful connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, providing authentic opportunities to contribute to programs through collaboration. Explore - We will support children, families and educators in developing their understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ knowledges of nature and sustainability – carting for Country. Construct - We continue to prioritise cultural responsiveness through providing ongoing training for educators, inquiry-based learning projects on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of being and providing a culturally inclusive environment. Our RAP addresses current issues by promoting cultural safety, equity and equality in education, and an understanding of ongoing impacts of colonisation on First Nations peoples. QSELC is committed to tracking RAP progress through measurable goals, regular evaluations, and annual reviews to ensure the success of these initiatives. Through our RAP, QSELC strives to foster a space that acknowledges and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, promoting a just, equitable society where reconciliation is actively practiced.
