As a service located on Kaurna Land, we deeply respect and acknowledge the Kaurna People as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, and play. We honour and incorporate Kaurna perspectives into our daily curriculum and intentionally engage with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to learn from, partner with, and celebrate their enduring cultures and contributions. We see our role as educators as central to the reconciliation movement, helping to shape future generations that understand the importance of truth-telling, cultural awareness, and respectful relationships with First Nations Peoples. Â Â Â
We recognise that in our roles as educators we can help shape future generations to maintain an understanding of their role in the reconciliation movement and how to build respectful relationships with of First Nation Peoples within their local and wider communities within Australia. We will work alongside local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to extend on our own knowledge about the histories and cultures of First Nations Peoples. We will share our reconciliation journey across the service with the children, families and educators to help develop cultural awareness.Â
