Reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people should be a part of everyday life and our centre. We believe that strong partnerships between our broader community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples fosters meaningful reconciliation. We recognise that the Early Childhood Education and Care Setting is the perfect platform for children to participate in quality and enriching education about reconciliation and its meaning, together with the Traditional Owners of the Land on which our Centre stands. We are committed to coming together as a community to learn about and recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives play a critical role in our journey to a reconciled nation. Our overall vision for reconciliation is to meaningfully engage all children, families and co-workers from all different cultural groups in a professional. caring and friendly manner and foster a space where reconciliation between the First Peoples of Australia and the wider community, can live in the hearts and minds of everyone within our learning community. We endeavour to communicate openly and freely about the issues and strengths we have encountered but also continue to strive to develop a sound relationship within our centre community and surrounding community.
