VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Busy Bees Banksia Grove, we are committed to acknowledging and teaching the true histories of Australia through play, fostering a sense of understanding, connection, and respect for First Nations peoples and the Land on which we learn, care for, and play. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and extend our deepest respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We actively recognise and respect the histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, knowing that these are integral to our shared histories and essential in building a connected, respectful, and reconciled society for the future. We strive to raise awareness about reconciliation within the broader community, encouraging everyone to embrace the journey of reconciliation and work towards healing and repair in the relationship between non-Indigenous Australians and the First Peoples of the Land. We demonstrate our commitment through deepening our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ knowledge systems and ways of learning and reflecting that knowledge respectfully at all levels of our service.

We strive to promote equal and equitable access to our services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families and build meaningful, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities to create a culturally safe environment for all. We recognise that our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is an ongoing journey, one we will continue to grow in as individuals, a team, and as an organisation. Our commitment aligns with our values of respect for diversity, inclusion, child advocacy, justice, honesty, and courage.
