VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Busy Bees Sandringham's vision for reconciliation is to strive to be an environment where every educator and child feels welcomed and inclusive through practices, cultural reflections and traditional acknowledgements. Through enhancing learning experiences for the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, building supportive and trusting relationships. Through this process, we vision an environment that respects our First Nations people, acknowledging and welcoming their history.

We envision a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognized and celebrated as being the First Nations people in Australia and seek to learn about the history of this Land. We aim to gain a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories in our Bayside area. We promise to explore this history with respect, honesty, and responsibility.

A better understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures develops an enriched appreciation of Australia’s cultural heritage to lead to reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a nation and fundamental to the development of an Australian identity.
