VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Reconciliation is about truth-telling, respect, and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to build a more just, inclusive future. Its a continuous journey of learning and action. Our Vision We imagine a reconciled Australia where First Nations peoples and cultures are deeply respected and part of everyday life. Children grow up knowing and valuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, perspectives and contributions. Relationships are grounded in truth and respect. Our Next Steps We will continue respectfully embedding First Nations peoples’ perspectives into our curriculum in meaningful ways. We’re deepening partnerships with local Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, offering staff training in cultural competence, and reflecting on past efforts to improve with respect and humility. Engaging with Community We are committed to learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and co-creating inclusive, culturally respectful learning experiences. Our work is shaped by genuine collaboration and support for community-led initiatives. Looking Ahead We will educate our community about First Nations peoples’ cultures and issues from early childhood. We’re committed to fostering respectful relationships, creating culturally safe spaces, and shaping practices with community guidance. We aim to inspire others in our sector to do the same.
