Our vision is to provide a welcoming environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively valued and heard, an environment that is culturally safe to learn about the diverse cultures of First Nations peoples. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and sense of being and are committed to deepening understanding and respect for First Nations peoples’ histories, knowledge systems, cultures, and languages. We provide opportunities to learn from the Gubbi Gubbi people as we deepen our understandings of their perspectives and languages. We strive to develop strong ethics of care and social justice and use these teachings to support children’s understanding of traditional and continuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' ways of knowing, doing and being. We strive in our service to be a culturally safe space for all families attending. We acknowledge that our Kindy is built on Gubbi Gubbi Land We hope for every child who attends this Kindy to learn from the Gubbi Gubbi people about what it means to care for the land and the waters that surround us. We respectfully embed daily practices that acknowledge First Nations peoples within our program and curriculum. We continually strive to improve relationships with First Nations peoples in our communities, participating in local celebrations and events.
