Pelicans in the city centre two acknowledges and values the cultural histories, heritages and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our vision for reconciliation is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised as being the First Nations peoples of Australia. Where all Australians acknowledge Elders past, present and future for the wisdom and knowledge they hold and support emerging leaders in local communities. As educators, we believe we have a strong responsibility to nurture an understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures in the children attending our centre. We strive to develop genuine, lasting relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to respectfully embed learning about our shared histories throughout our organisation and curriculum.
