Woodgreen Early Learning Centre is dedicated to acknowledging, respecting, and valuing the cultural histories, heritages, traditions, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and continual Custodians of the Land.
Our vision is to foster a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively acknowledged, respected, and recognised as the First Nations peoples of Australia. We aspire for all Australians to respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, both past and present, and to extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people today.
Woodgreen ELC is committed to learning and recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in our daily routines. We will also celebrate essential occasions and foster strong connections with the community and Country.
We acknowledge the significance of the Ngunnawal language, which embodies concepts of "alive, well-being, coming together, and peace." Embracing these values, we aim to create an inclusive environment that respects the Ngunnawal heritage and fosters a sense of unity and well-being for all.
