At KingKids, we are committed to creating and maintaining a place where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We believe that reconciliation is not just a goal but an ongoing journey that belongs to all of us. We strive to build early learning environments that reflect and celebrate the rich cultural heritages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. By embracing truth-telling and educating ourselves, our children, and our families, we foster greater understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and perspectives and foster stronger community ties. Our work is grounded in the belief that genuine relationships with First Nations peoples are essential. We actively seek to listen, learn, and collaborate with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to strengthen connections and create shared pathways forward. We recognise our responsibility to contribute positively to reconciliation by promoting respect, equity, and inclusion for all. Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a step toward deepening our cultural awareness and supporting our educators and staff to engage meaningfully with First Nations peoples’ perspectives.
