VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Northlakes Astley Parade, we believe reconciliation is a shared journey that begins with understanding the vital role education plays in fostering change. We are committed to promoting equality and equity for all, and to embedding reconciliation into our everyday practices. We are committed to building and maintaining relationships with, and learning from, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we play and learn. Reconciliation means to continue to celebrate the ongoing contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, to continue to make, and commit to creating warm, responsive and respectful learning environments for all.  We actively celebrate  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ enduring cultures, knowledge, and contributions to our community. We also recognise our role in teaching children the importance of reconciliation and sharing the true histories of this Land. Through our classroom practices and curriculum, we demonstrate this commitment daily. We encourage our educators to grow alongside the children, deepening their knowledge, reflecting critically, and embracing continuous learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and perspectives. This shared journey strengthens our collective responsibility to guide future generations with integrity, respect, and understanding.
