VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Denham Court World of Learning, we recognise that respect and understanding grow from knowledge. We view reconciliation as an ongoing opportunity for our service and local community to deepen awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, cultures and perspectives. By developing strong, respectful relationships with Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, we aim to expand our understanding of reconciliation within our own context. We are committed to supporting our educators, children and families to engage in shared learning experiences and to ensuring our centre is a culturally responsive, welcoming and safe environment for all. In educating our wider community, we value critical reflection and are guided by the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework. We understand reconciliation as a journey grounded in equity, equality and respect, and we strive to create positive change for future generationsworking towards a society built on trust, acceptance and mutual respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians.
