VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Papilio Castle Hill, our vision for reconciliation is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and cultures to be integrated respectfully into every aspect of our service program and curriculum. We aim to create a learning environment that acknowledges and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and ways of learning in all classrooms.

Our curriculum provides all children to learn about, and respect, the rich heritages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the original inhabitants of Australia. We strive to foster a sense of awareness and understanding, helping children recognise the significance of First Nations peoples’ histories and cultures in shaping modern Australian society.

We emphasise the importance of acknowledging that the Land on which we are located is Traditional Aboriginal Land, instilling respect in young learners and a sense of responsibility to care for, and respect, the Land and its Original Custodians. We envision that all children will develop connections to the environment while fostering respect and appreciation for Aboriginal cultures and their enduring relationship with Country.
