VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Asquith Community After School Care acknowledges and values that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have diverse and unique cultural histories, traditions and continuing contributions.  Our vision for reconciliation is to consistently ensure our students recognise and respect that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the Traditional Custodians and Owners of the Land on which we live, including the Land that the centre stands on. We aim to foster an environment of  equality and equity and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout our community.  Asquith Community After School Care is dedicated to continually fostering meaningful connections with the First Nations community, embodying the spirit of reconciliation within our program. We recognise the importance of acknowledging and respecting the rich heritages, cultures and perspectives of First Nations peoples. To build these essential relationships, we actively engage with local First Nations Elders, leaders, and community members, as we continue our reconciliation journey.  Asquith Community After School Care aims to contribute to an environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students and Elders feel a sense of cultural safety and belonging in our service community. The cultures, histories, and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are at the forefront of everything we do including our philosophy, program and practices.
