VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Jindi Kindergarten and Extended Care, our vision for reconciliation is for all to hold deep awareness and appreciation of the rich histories, cultures, and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We envision a learning environment where all children grow to understand, respect, and acknowledge the true histories of Australia and the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures, recognising the significant ongoing contributions to the wider community.

We strive to create opportunities for meaningful learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and perspectives. We believe that educating children and their families will help nurture generations of Australians dedicated to reconciliation and inclusivity.

In line with our name, Jindi, which means 'to come together' in the local Woi Wurrung language, we strive to cultivate a culturally safe and welcoming space for all families. We partner closely with local organisations and the voices of Wurundjeri Elders to enhance our commitment to inclusivity and cultural understanding.
