Goodstart Blackmans Bay

Our vision at Goodstart Blackmans Bay, we acknowledge the Muwininia people and the wilder Palawa community as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn, explore, and play. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present and recognise their enduring connection to the land, sky, and waterways.     

As a reflection of Goodstart Blackmans Bay's recognition of Palawa people and our shared history, we honour the rights of Palawa people to maintain their culture and identity.     

Our vision is to maintain and nurture respectful, reciprocal relationships between our early learning service and the wider Palawa community.     

As an Early Learning community, we commit to learning from, connecting with, and respectfully sharing knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, histories, and experiences. This shared journey allows us to grow together in understanding and unity.     

We believe that equality and equity are essential for the development of every child and adult, enabling each person to thrive and reach their fullest potential.     

Relationships are at the heart of early childhood and life. We strive to build strong, culturally safe connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and across our whole community, guided by respect, inclusion, and a commitment to reconciliation.       

We feel connected to Blackmans Bay through the beautiful sea, beaches, and trees around us. The sound of the water brings calm and a sense of belonging to our day. We say thank you to the Palawa people for allowing us to work and live on their Country and waterways.
