At Millicent North Kindergarten, we deeply respect First Nations peoples of Australia. We value their wisdom carried across generations and commit to working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and  community members to teach our children about First Nations peoples histories, traditions, and languages. We acknowledge that our kindergarten is on Boandik Country and strive to build respectful relationships within the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, whilst respectfully embedding  understanding of Bunganditj Language in our teaching. With open hearts and minds, we guide our children to feel connected to their own cultures, develop positive self-identities, and appreciate the perspectives and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. Our ongoing journey towards reconciliation aims to create an culturally responsive environment where every child feels valued and respected. Our vision is not just to acknowledge but to respectfully embed First Nations Peoples cultures and perspectives by co-constructing our learning environment and curriculum with children, families, and community. Through culturally responsive reflection, our pedagogy and practice remain actively committed to fostering growth, equality, and equity of competent and capable citizens. Our reconciliation action plan is an ongoing journey and dedication to having a culturally inclusive environment that celebrates and empowers our childrens sense of belonging and individual uniqueness at our kindergarten.Â
