Mount Pleasant & District Kindergarten

Mount Pleasant and District Kindergarten (which represents the educators, children and families) commit to walking and learning together for reconciliation with the First Peoples of Australia, raising awareness, equity and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 

Mount Pleasant and District Kindergarten will build our understanding of, and respect for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, rights and experiences.  

We will demonstrate strong relationships based on trust and respect, and that are free of racism. 

Mount Pleasant and District Kindergarten will ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples participate equally and equitably in all areas of our Kindy and the wider community by actively supporting the five dimensions of reconciliation. 

Mount Pleasant and District Kindergarten believes in a society that acknowledges and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and heritages as a proud part of a shared national identity. 

Mount Pleasant and District Kindergarten understands and acknowledges the wrongs of the past and ongoing injustices since colonisation that continue to impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, demonstrating this through our words and actions.
