At Unley Community Childcare Centre, we believe it's important to acknowledge and learn about Australia's true histories as we educate current and future generations and plan for an equal, equitable and socially just Australia. Our vision for reconciliation sees us partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the local community. As an early education provider, we are in a unique position to teach the next generation, firstly educating ourselves about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and taking the time to listen and learn from others. We continue to embrace the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework as we forge meaningful relationships that are based on respect and reciprocity, creating an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and safety. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are rich and diverse, and we seek to provide all children with the opportunity to learn about and respect the peoples and places that make up this country. Through our commitment to sustainability, we continue to care for Country, ensuring that families can continue to live, learn and play on Kaurna Land for many more years to come.Â
