Our vision is for all families, leaders, and staff in the Smithfield Childcare community to feel valued, respected and culturally safe in our Service.
We aim to respectfully acknowledge the right of all children and families attending Smithfield Child Care Centre and for all staff and volunteers to know the history and cultures of the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we come together to play, learn, and work.
We aspire to extend knowledge and understanding (in a culturally responsive and safe way) of the true history of Australia’s First Peoples. We will embed education on the perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, into our everyday practice.
Throughout each year, Smithfield Child Care will celebrate reconciliation and this is what is embedded to guide our educational practices.
