Giru Child Care Centre

Giru Daycare Centre’s vision for reconciliation is to connect with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We aim to deepen our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions. We will ensure that we use respectful resources to further educate ourselves as Educators, as well as children, families and greater community members.  

As stated in our philosophy, our centre has an open-door policy that encourages individuals of all cultures and religions to come in and share their interests and background with our centre families. In our rural community there isn't a large change towards cultural diversity, but we will continue to build relationships with the local First Nations community to help foster equality and equity and to actively seek and draw on advice from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
