VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We recognise the Traditional Custodians of the Land upon which we learn, play and teach. The Kombumerri People of Bundjalunh Country on the East Coast of Queensland.    We come together on our journey for reconciliation recognising and acknowledging the value of the histories, culture, language and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the First Nation's People of Australia. We understand the importance and responsibility as Early Years Educators, to ensure current and future generations understand, acknowledge and respect the true histories of Australia and we are dedicated to creating an environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are visible, respected and embedded meaningfully into our curriculum and daily rhythm.   Guided by Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe children are capable and curious learners who construct knowledge through relationships - with people, places and culture.    Our commitment to reconciliation is reflected in how we listen, learn and teach alongside children, families and community, recognising that every interaction is an opportunity for connection and understanding.    Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we take deliberate steps to strengthen our relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, reflect on our practices and deepen our collective learning.    As an Early Childhood Education and Care Service, we are committed to continuing to ensure equal and equitable opportunities for all educators, families and children to a part of an inclusive and diverse place, that is culturally respectful and responsive. We are committed to working respectfully alongside the First Nations peoples, organisations and communities while embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into every relationship and environment with our service.
