VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is for our centre to be part of the community, where children, families and educators feel a sense of belonging as well as within our wider local community. We strive to reflect, embrace, respect and celebrate all cultures including First Nations peoples' cultures.

We believe reconciliation includes ensuring that all children have equal and equitable access to educational opportunities and outcomes. We genuinely value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia with deep respect, understanding and inclusion into our programs and practices.

As Australians actively working towards reconciliation, we embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, historical acceptance of our own shared history and removal of discrimination and negative race relations.

As a centre we also believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect and trust. Through reconciliation we strengthen the relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the benefit of all Australians.

Our reconciliation action plan is a formal statement of our honest and transparent commitment to reconciliation. By making this commitment Goodstart Early Learning Swan Hill Pritchard Street is committed to enriching the lives of our staff, our children, their families, our volunteers and the wider community through deeper understanding and connection to First Nations peoples and perspectives. We will, in addition to this, provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to have input and contribute into our programs.

Goodstart Early Learning Swan Hill Pritchard Street is a centre which appreciates and respects all groups and cultures and incorporates learning and activities for children to grow in their knowledge of diversity and inclusivity.
