At Panorama Heights Preschool, we are located on Wurundjeri Country, close to the banks of the Birrarung, surrounded by Country that has been cared for by Aboriginal people for thousands of years. We have the unique and privileged position in shaping and nurturing young children, and it is our obligation, privilege and the rights of the children who learn with us to start to understand past and current injustices to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in this country from an early age. And we will acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives. Our vision for reconciliation is a nation that recognises, validates and is actively committed to acknowledging and working together with First Nations people. Our role in this vision is to provided age-appropriate opportunities to understand what has happened in the past, our role in healing in the present and changing our future and to better appreciate the unique cultures and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
