At Story House Diamond Creek we recognise the importance of feeling a sense of belonging and understand that reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander peoples and other Australians is everyones responsibility. Our vision is to provide a culturally safe space that creates a sense of belonging and is inclusive for all people. We believe that reconciliation is based on educating ourselves, our children and families about the true history of Australia. We believe that working in collaboration with First Nations community and the wider community will  deepeen partnerships, and will ensure a more interconnected and inclusive environment. We actively strive to build connections that support all people connected to our centre and to fully participate in the community we cater for. At Story House Diamond Creek, we believe that everyone should have a right to live their life with dignity, free from racism and discrimination. Story House Diamond Creek acknowledges the significant ties to Aboriginal heritage our community has such as children and families. We also acknowledge the significant role it plays to the wider community and is committed to building an equitable and reconciled municipality.   Our Reconciliation Action Plan will help support our educators to identify how to build respectful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within our local government area.
