At North-Eastern Montessori School, our commitment to reconciliation shapes and guides our Reconciliation Action Plan. We strive to build a school community based on accountability, mutual respect, and truth-telling, with a deep appreciation for  First Nations peoples and their enduring cultures. To this end, we acknowledge and respect the profound connections that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with the Land. We honour the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our school stands. Through this recognition, we foster a sense of unity and respect within our school community. Our vision of reconciliation focuses on promoting respect for the traditions, languages, and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where every member of our community feels a sense of belonging and recognises the interconnectedness of all things. This vision aligns closely with the values that underpin our Schools philosophy. As we move forward, we envision a future where our children grow up with a deep understanding of the past and present, and the perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to building our knowledge of First Nations peoples and cultures as part of our journey toward reconciliation. We are dedicated to building strong, meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led organisations as we ensure that our Reconciliation Action Plan reflects genuine and collaborative actions. Our staff are supported with ongoing training and resources to ensure they are equipped to engage in and promote the journey of reconciliation.
