VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Kelso Children's Centre we acknowledge and respect the cultural histories, heritages and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Kelso Children's Centre believes establishing and maintaining meaningful and ongoing relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community is fundamental for achieving our organisation’s vision for reconciliation. We continue to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' perspectives, cultures, histories and contributions into our daily program and day to day routines and will model and encourage children to show respect, empathy, highlighting importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples' ongoing cultures and contributions. We continue to contribute to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians. Focus on fostering respectful relationships with First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous people. We strive to build understanding of where, how, why, and when to respectfully seek guidance and consultation for our reconciliation journey from the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, prioritising, preparing and planning for future reconciliation initiatives and events.
