VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Ballina, we are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a journey of reconciliation grounded in respect, understanding and meaningful action. We acknowledge the Nyangbul people of the Bundjalung Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn, play and grow, and we honour their deep and enduring connection to Country.

Reconciliation to us means listening, learning and acting with purpose. It means creating a culturally safe space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and voices are not only respected but are central to the way we teach, learn and connect with one another.

We are embedding the Aboriginal 8 Ways of Learning into our curriculum and intentional teaching practices to deepen understanding and reflect a genuine commitment to change. Through shared stories, daily acknowledgements, connections to nature and strong relationships, we nurture childrens respect for Country and culture, while growing their sense of place and belonging.

We envision a future where reconciliation lives in our everyday actions, our curriculum and our community a future built on truth, partnership and a shared commitment to a more just and united Australia.
