VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Hamilton Child Care Centres vision is to foster a community that recognises and embraces Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' truths, knowledges, and cultures. This vision for reconciliation is grounded in the concepts of opportunities, relationships, and respect and the understanding that it must live in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians. Aligning with our philosophy, our vision is grounded in relationships and a learning about connection to Country. We are determined to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to create a world that is culturally inclusive, equal, equitable, and just. We believe that children are the future, and education has the potential to make change. When we empower children, they become advocates for social justice including honouring their own rights and the rights of others. It is our duty as adults to provision childrens learning through authentic, meaningful, and respectful educational opportunities, guided by First Nations Peoples. In the context of our organisation, we acknowledge that reconciliation is an ongoing process that requires courage, truth-telling, equality and equity. Reconciliation informs our inclusive and sustainable practices that strives for equitable and equal opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  Moving forward in our centre's programming we are looking to provide experiences that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander to aid in intergenerational healing and awarenss.
