At Community Kids we believe reconciliation begins with the relationships we build each day with our children, families, and wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Our vision for reconciliation is to grow a centre where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, and contributions are truly understood, valued, and respected by all. We recognise that we play a vital role in shaping young minds. Through meaningful conversations, shared stories, and inclusive experiences, we aim to help our children develop a strong sense of belonging to our centre and respect for the First Peoples of this Land. We believe every child has the right to grow up in a place where they feel safe, seen, and connected to the rich cultures that make up our shared national identity. As educators, we are committed to listening, learning, and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge that reconciliation is ongoing work, and we are dedicated to taking steps to accept the true histories, engage in reconciliation in the present, and help create a future where all First Nations peoples are respected at Community Kids, where reconciliation is not just part of our curriculum it is part of who we are.
