At North Ryde Community Preschool, our vision for reconciliation is to continue to provide and promote an inclusive, welcoming and safe environment for all members of our community, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are dedicated to actively engaging and deepening our relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and connecting with local Elders. We will provide opportunities to teach children, families, teachers and the wider community, by respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in all aspects of our program. Reconciliation to us means restoring relationships and building connections through truth telling and embracing the worlds oldest living continuous culture. We will do this by acknowledging past wrong doings and the catastrophic consequences that occurred and how this continues to affect First Nations peoples and communities today. We stand together at preschool and say Sorry. We will continue to provide opportunities to share our learnings with our preschool families. We will continue to value diversity, especially, the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives every day at preschool.
