Staff and students at Hampton Park Primary School are committed to maintaining a culturally safe and welcoming environment for all. We believe in equality and equity, that each and every student has the fundamental right and ability to learn and make meaningful contributions to our school. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families are respected and included in our learning about their individual needs, and ways of being and knowing. We will continue to share how this contributes to our understanding of reconciliation, process and contributing to the learning of others, as it is our belief that the truth telling about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures are the foundation of learning about the place we now call Australia. This builds unity and respect amongst our school and wider community, promoting reconciliation and promoting unity. We believe in continually listening to the views of our community and reviewing our practices to always attempt to stay true to our vision of continued reconciliation for all. Hampton Park Primary Staff, Students, Parents and Community walk together hand in hand on this early journey towards reconciliation. We acknowledge the truth of the lands on which we meet on and the strides that have been made in education towards reconciliation of all the people in Australia.
