At Hackham East Primary School, our commitment to reconciliation is driven by mutual respect, interconnectedness, and a shared understanding with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and wider community with a vision for a reconciled future. Â Â Â
We aim to prioritise and acknowledge First Nations cultural histories through Truth-Telling processes of openly sharing historical truths. We will do this through regularly engaging with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and meaningful Consultation. Â Â Â
Our goal is to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and ways of learning, Knowing, Being and Doing into all aspects and experiences at our school. We are committed to creating an environment that reflects and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. Â Â Â
Our ongoing journey towards reconciliation focuses on building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community members, through Deep Listening (Dadirri) and incorporating two-way learning to build on these mutual trusting relationships. Â Â Â
We commit to our school being a culturally safe and welcoming environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, staff and the wider community.Â
Hackham East Primary School commits to being a safe and inclusive space where all cultures are respected and celebrated.   Â
Leadership at Hackham East Primary School will lead by example ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are a focus of everyday school life, inclusive of Professional Development and Staff Training Days.
