VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Pilgrim School is a caring and compassionate Christian community where all children have equal and equitable opportunities to belong, explore, flourish, and serve.  Our vision for reconciliation is grounded in building strong, respectful, and ongoing relationships with First Nations Peoples. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we commit to deepening our understanding of the diverse cultures, identities, and continuing connections that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country, Sea, and Sky.   We continue to grow as a learning community that actively engages with First Nations peoples perspectives, histories, and contributions. We recognise the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and the strength, resilience, and continuity of the oldest living cultures in the world.   Pilgrim School will continue to work alongside local First Nations advisors and community members to support culturally responsive and collaborative practices. We commit to fostering and maintaining an environment where respectful two-way learning is valued and where all students see First Nations peoples cultures and identities meaningfully represented.   We are dedicated to recognising and respecting the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and to contributing to anti-racism through equitable policies, truth-telling, and ongoing learning.   As a community, we will listen deeply, engage purposefully, and strengthen our understanding of diverse First Nations peoples perspectives and experiences. Together, we create opportunities that promote awareness, build relationships, and contribute to a shared, just, and reconciled future for all.
