Reconciliation involves listening, engaging in two-way dialogues and promoting social transformation. As we continue the journey of reconciliation, we must honour the diverse voices and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Australia's history and future.  Reconciliation is hopeful, truthful, dignified and person-centred work, where all are encouraged to participate, and where all must share a vision for a more just society. Fundamentally, reconciliation is about relationships. As a school community we seek to build mutually respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and we aspire to make our campus a safe, welcoming and supportive space where staff and students can build cultural awareness and better understand our shared histories. As part of Mary Aikenhead Education, guardians of the legacy of the Sisters of Charity our school values of love, hope, compassion and justice continue to guide our reconciliation work.  Mt St Michael's College commits to building a culture of respect, inclusion, empowerment and pride that respects and acknowledges the unique rights, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of the Land (Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, 190). We are committed to acknowledging the special relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the Land and finding thoughtful, respectful and appropriate ways to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the curriculum. We continue to strive to heal the hurts and wrongs of the past and of today in the spirit of Charity, through words and actions and being a place that is culturally inclusive and safe, where aspirations are fostered, and diversity is celebrated.  We are guided by the hope and wisdom of the Holy Spirit as we continue this journey together.
