VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is for all members of our community to be knowledgable and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and continuous contributions. We strive to foster this in a way where everyone can see, hear and feel progress towards reconciliation.

We are a multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 coeducational school that aims to build inclusive and connected communities. Our Campuses and programs are based on the Lands of the Bunurong and Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation, and the Mirarr peoples in the Northern Territory. Learning from the Traditional Owners and Custodians of these Lands is a privilege, inspiring a deeper understanding for future generations. We continue to provide an environment of respect and inclusion across our school that is consistent with our School Values of Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Creativity, Embracing Diversity, Thriving Together and Living Wholeheartedly. Our Values are embedded in our Reconciliation Action Plan, guiding our behaviour and the way we work together as a community.

We remain committed to maintaining ongoing and deeper consultation with Senior Mirrar Elders, and the Bunurong and Wurundjeri Elders and Custodians, developing a range of learning opportunities for students and staff and embedding local language and cultural exploration through a range of teaching and learning programs from Early Learning to Senior School. We are committed to becoming a school of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, promoting and fostering the path to tangible and meaningful reconciliation by enriching all members of the CGS community.
