At Blackburn Primary School, we embrace working collaboratively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as a step towards understanding and building meaningful relationships as we engage in our reconciliation journey. Collectively we aim to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of, and connection with, First Nations peoples truths, histories and cultures. Blackburn Primary School will work to provide students, staff and the wider community with a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives and to understand the role of non-Indigenous people in reconciliation.Â
Blackburn Primary School continues to be a culturally safe and responsive place, and we aim to build connections with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We aspire to embody understanding and respect for First Nations peoples through trust, respect and shared knowledge.Â
