Ivanhoe Girls Grammar Schools vision for reconciliation is pursued through our core school values of Bravery, Curiosity, Kindness, Connectedness, and Vibrancy. As a school community we acknowledge the deep trauma experienced by First Nations people both currently and in the past. This is a result of colonisation and institutionalised racism from within our government and Australian society. Â Â We commit wholeheartedly to our responsibility as a modern-day Australian institution to listen to and learn from the First Peoples of Australia. Â The Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School Reconciliation Action Plan is our formal statement of commitment to learn, work and persist in the journey towards reconciliation. Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a living document. Â Â Through the lens of our values, we dedicate ourselves to forging an equal, equitable, ongoing, and meaningful connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations. We strive to build Connectedness by continuously listening to and learning from all members of the community, including the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Elders, First Nations communities, and organisations. Â Â Through Curiosity, Bravery and Kindness, we endeavour to provide opportunities for students, staff and families to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, knowledges, cultures, and perspectives. With Vibrancy, we vow to enhance understanding and recognition of social inequities and inequalities experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while also honouring the vitality and longevity of First Nations cultures. We strive to further embed the concept of reconciliation through all aspects of our school life. Â This is our commitment, our responsibility, and our shared journey towards reconciliation. Â Â Â Â Â
